The youngest of 5 children, Dr. Guy Racette began fulfilling his dream when at age 20 he was accepted by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal. He graduated in 1982 and traveled to western Canada to complete his Family Medicine residency in 1984. He was enrolled into the College of Family Physicians of Canada, becoming a fellow of the College in 2005.
Dr. Racette entered his first Family Practice in the small town of Colby, Kansas in 1985 before moving to a larger practice in Kansas City in 1987. In that year he successfully completed the American Board of Family Practice (Now the ABFM) examination and recertified in 1994, 2001 and 2008. Seeking warmer climate to practice his several favorite watersports year-round, Dr. Racette moved to Corpus Christi in 1988. At that time he discovered his affinity for Occupational Medicine and devoted the majority of his practice life to the specialty.
From 2008 to 2013, Dr. Racette headed an Occupational Medicine initiative for CHRISTUS in Beaumont, Texas. From 2013 to 2015 he was Director of Occupational Medical Services for Twin Fountains in Victoria until that business was sold. During that time, he re-discovered his primary care roots. He returned to the CHRISTUS organization in January of 2016 with Promptu Immediate care. He is married to Jennifer, his wife of 26 years. The couple have a son, Rob, who attends the 8th grade in Rockport.
